Open Access Conference Proceedings

The 32^nd edition of the traditional steel conference Theory and Practice of Steel Production and Processing was held in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm from 31 March to 1 April 2016. The conference was opened with an introductory speech by Prof. Ing. Jana Dobrovská, CSc., Dean of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, VŠB - Technical University Ostrava. With the opening invited lecture entitled "Will 2016 be another breakthrough year for the steel industry?" was presented by RNDr. Jaroslav Raab from Hutnictví železa a.s. Another invited speaker Ing. Miroslav Chlumský from the Ministry of Industry and Trade gave a lecture on "State support for research and development at the MIT". 80 participants from Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland listened to 19 lectures. The conference was attended mainly by people from companies and research institutes. University students were also represented among the participants. The social evening was held on 31 March in the Wallachian koliba Kordulka.
