The paper refers to a general idea of the multi-agent method for modeling the logistics system in the steel industry. The advantage of the use of the agent-based approach as decision making system in transport, is that the agent-based systems are efficient (asynchronous independent operation), reliable (failure of one agent does not cause failure of the entire system), flexible (can adapt the system to a larger size by adding new agents without impact on existing) and have an ability to respond to changes occurring in the environment.
