Abstract: Steel treatment in the ladle in the secondary metallurgy units can be described as refining processes taking place between two non-mixable liquids representing metal and slag, namely under relative high temperatures. During refining processes, transmission process appears between metal and slag which has an impact on increasing of micro-cleanness and mainly on steel desulphurization representing an important transfer process. Abstract: The paper presents research of possibilities of optimisation of production of tool steel of X40CrMoV5-1 grade for forging on the rapid forging machine, which was directed on conditions of casting with focus on macro-porosity and micro-porosity in the ingot body. Metallographic analyses of ingot structures prove that internal discontinuities in ingots may be formed as a result of volume changes of liquid and solid phases, of carbidic segregations and micro-cracks in segregations. Abstract: The influence of Temperature-Strain-Time parameters at the Thermomechanical Processing (TMP) of austenitic, duplex and pearlitic structural steels on the mesostructure formation has been studied based on the laboratory, industrial experiments and TEM analysis. The fragmented dislocation substructure observed in steels with a different carbon, nitrogen, titanium, niobium content as well as recrystallization gave evidence that TMP effects the work-hardening and softening behaviour.
