Abstract

The paper deals with modelling processes the output of which is affected by both continuous quantitative variables and qualitative variables. Three examples working with simulated data show how to perform regression involving one or two qualitative variables. The paper also shows a simple approach to assessing model correspondence, using a test of the absolute terms of regression functions.

Keywords: design of experiments, regression function, nominal and continuous variables
